100% natural colouring E-163.
Liquid concentrate extracted from Vitis Vinifera grapes.
Enocyanins (or anthocyanins) are a group of flavonoids that belong to the class of polyphenols and are responsible for the red, blue and purple colour of many fruits, flowers and plants, such as grapes, cherries, blueberries and aubergines. These pigments are mainly found in the skin of fruits and in the vegetative parts of some plants and have numerous health benefits.
Through a careful extraction process, Bagnarese extracts grape anthocyanin from red and black grapes. It is responsible for the bright colours of grapes that range from intense colour to purple and is an excellent natural colouring. In addition to its role as a natural pigment, enocyanin is known for its antioxidant properties and the health benefits it offers.
It is purple-red in color, with a slightly acidic aroma.
Applications
Fruit Juices
Jams
Marmalades
Sweets & Ice Creams
Food Supplements
Cosmetic Products
Grape enocyanin is used as a natural colorant, ideal for replacing artificial colorants in foods and beverages, such as fruit juices, jams, marmalades, sweets and ice cream.
Furthermore, thanks to its antioxidant properties, it is added to food products to extend the shelf-life of products, reduce oxidation and improve nutritional stability, preventing the deterioration of vitamins and minerals.
Being of natural origin, enocyanin is to be considered preferable to artificial colorants. Furthermore, since it comes from plant sources, its environmental impact is lower than that of many synthetic colorants.
It is also relatively stable in acidic environments (such as in fruit juices) and can be used to create bright colors, ranging from red to purple. This makes it ideal for a wide range of food applications.
Main Benefits
Thanks to its ability to improve blood circulation, grape enocyanin is often used in food supplements to support cardiovascular health. Grape henocyanin supplements are also used to combat free radical damage, promoting overall health, slowing down aging, and protecting against chronic diseases, such as cancer. Enocyanin also improves retinal circulation and is used in eye health treatments.
Grape henocyanins can have a positive impact on metabolism, blood sugar control, and reduce LDL cholesterol levels. Their antioxidant properties make grape henocyanins widely used in cosmetic products, such as creams, serums, and toners. Finally, they can be used as a natural antioxidant in agriculture to protect plants from damage caused by environmental stress and promote healthy growth.
In summary, enocyanin is an attractive choice as a natural food colorant due to its plant origin, health benefits, sustainability, and ability to meet growing consumer demands for more natural and safe products.
